It’s a surprisingly blustery morning, after overnight thunderstorms. We’re just moving across the harbour. The wind is in exactly the wrong direction for getting out of our mooring, unless we try to reverse out of the marina, which is clearly a bad plan. Eventually we recruit the marina bosun, who manages the end of a long spring on the end of the pontoon. With him in place the operation becomes straightforward and we’re soon on our way. We motor across to South Deep, where we pass ‘Passager’ already enjoying the peace and quiet. The anchor holds on the first attempt and it’s a quiet afternoon reading the newspaper. Eventually the wind drops and the clouds break for a tranquil end to the day. Lamb jalfrezi for supper as the tour boats trundle past.
