There’s a good breeze forecast today to blow us along to Salcombe. We cast off at 11:10, but have just missed a lock. It takes until 11:40 to get through. We put a reef in and set off, just fetching around Renney Point. Bearing a way it’s a great sail, albeit with a good swell, enhanced by a little wind over tide. The skipper stays on the helm as we make the most of it.

Bearing away off Bolt Head it’s calm into Salcombe. There’s about 3kts of tide running with the wind as we turn up onto our mooring. It’s clearly a night for 2 solid mooring lines to the buoy.

We head to Salcombe Yacht Club for showers and a drink. the Fortescue Inn produces surprisingly good food, despite our being consigned to the games room. Ice cream on the way back to the water taxi.
