  • New faults – Windspeed logging?
Tuesday dawns altogether brighter and breezier than yesterday. We’re not in a hurry, so it’s all ashore for a leisurely cooked breakfast. It will be the No.1 jib today, so that needs to be furled ready for hoisting and away we go again. We’re not sure who the pirates are!
Everything hoists that bit more easily the second time round and we’re making good progress back across the Solent. The flood tide just carries us East of Bramble Bank and we try a couple of tacks to see if we can remember how. The wind is fluky and it’s cold on the other tack, shaded by the main. It’s another short sail and back up the river. A very gentle start to the season.
The updated wind transducer is working now, although it still seems reluctant to start in less than 5kts. We shall monitor it further. The SignalK logging is looking good, except for wind speed. That looks like a software bug for home.
