17 September 2019 – Two yachts is a race

Start position
Loch Aline
Finish position
The sun is shining as we set off. We’re sailing as we leave Loch Aline. We see a wooden yacht heading the same way on the other side of the Sound. The wind is still blowing straight down against us, so it’s a beat again in gentle conditions. ‘Lobie II’ reveals herself as a Laurent Giles design, slightly longer than us. We’re soon crossing all the way up the sound. At times they point high and sail away from us, then slow down again. 5hrs later we follow them into a quiet Tobermory.
We head back to the Mishnish for supper, this time in the bar side, which is comfortably busy.
