Further calls to Classic Marine suggest that it could then take them a month to make a replacement, once they have the old one. So we decide to go down the route of a local repair to get us going again. They think they can have us back together by Friday (tomorrow!) afternoon. We remove the gaff completely and meet the Boatworks+ LandRover at the head of the pontoon.

There’s no sailing to be had, so we get on the first bus and head for Pembroke Bay. From there we take Marion’s guided tour of the island rubbish tip and then Rousse Tower.

Louise cooks supper onboard. There’s still considerable uncertainty in our plans, so Marion decides to head back across the channel in the morning.
